Our Story
When Mother's Day Restaurant first began its story, it was an idea, a dream, and an ambition shared by two brothers, Pete and Bobby Paleothodoros. As Greek immigrants, they moved their lives to Chicago in hopes of working to gain the opportunity to build something important and meaningful. And now, a generation later, this still holds true for our family.
Customs and traditions are at the root of any family or community. We value that which reminds us of "home." This belief is the foundation of our family-owned business. It is a sentiment that has motivated us since Mother's Day Restaurant first opened its doors in 1975 in Berwyn and then, later, in our permanent North Riverside home in 1982. "Mother's Day" represents more than an annual holiday: it represents the special relationships in our lives that are often built and grown over a delicious meal.
Thank you for 45 years (and counting) of patronage as we strive to continue serving the community, your families, and your bellies.
